I cannot believe that we are just 4 short months from 2011. But as I sit here bemoaning that quick advancement of time I realized that we have not done a 'best of' for a band for quite a long time. I know that we have done a lot of high profile bands, with a few lower profile bands thrown in there. But there is one that I'm fond of and would love to hear your thoughts on. That would be Lou Reed.

Lou Reed has gone through many musical changes throughout his career including the "love it or hate it" Metal Machine Music, the infamous contract breaker that, depending on which day you hear it, is either a misunderstood classic or a purposed train wreck. Regardless, (and you can include it if you so desire), our job is to put a finger on a career best album from Lou Reed.

From my angle, this is not going to be an easy task. On one hand, I love Transformer, on another the brilliance of Berlin shines real, real bright. And then there is a defining Street Hassle. Wow. Which will it be? And since Lou is so pure with his several Live albums, I'll let you include one but ONLY if you also name a studio album as your second choice.

Send your Lou Reed 'best of career album' picks to me at this link. I hope that we get plenty of participation for this one.

I want to alert TAP readers to the fact that I have finally put together a FaceBook fan page that you can access and join by clicking on the badge below.  What this offers is the exact same thing as my Twitter feeds provide and that is first buzz on upcoming releases and free offered downloads, many announcements  that beat our main post, sometimes by days.  We also provide a Google BUZZ page that expands on most of the Twitter/FB feeds. On Buzz, you can even hear the music stream if a stream is offered.  There are still things that I'm working on in the FB page, like calender notes as well as links to great sites like The Second Disc.  I invite you to join us at our FB page and bookmark it.  Visit it daily and you'll be rewarded with much news and info.  Of course, you'll still want to come to the main MusicTAP page for our noisy commentaries.  Remember, with our Twitter feeds, you can elect to receive the news bursts as text on your mobile phone keeping you effortlessly up to date with stuff.  Lots of choices.  Find one, or two, that fits.
