Martha Wainwright
Bloody Motherfucking Asshole

The sibling of Rufus Wainwright and the offspring of Loudon Wainwright and Kate McGarrigle from the 70s, Martha jumps into the chaotic world of music with an EP that contains two previewed songs from her self-titled debut and a bonus of three exclusive tracks not found on the debut issue.  The shockingly titled EP is a mix of excellent tunes that bring to mind, incredibly so, the best of Ani DiFranco with the defiant “Bloody MotherFucking Asshole” and “I Will Internalize.”

The best tune on this EP is also found on the self-titled debut, “When the Day is Short”, a fully worked, beautifully presented song that showcases Martha’s capabilities and hints at the vocal work of The Sundays’ Harriet Wheeler.  However, Martha Wainwright’s vocal range is all over the map as the song commands.  She’s shocking, she pulls no punches, and she’s a complete package.

This 5-song EP will immediately add collectibles to what is sure to be a classic career.  Don’t wait until it’s too late and you HAVE to search for this EP.
