Once in a while, you run across an artist, while not immensely accessible in the sense of across the board audience appeal, simply does an effective job of tapping into the vein of American Rock.  That artist is Joey Stuckey, and his bio is quite an interesting one.

Joey Stuckey was blinded as an infant due to a brain tumor.  However, he has not only remained determined to overcome, he has done things that most people without his disability cannot - or will not - achieve0.321.  As a result, he has deeply embedded himself within the music industry in various levels.

On his new album, So Far, Stuckey has created a warm and inviting brew of American Rock, subtly different in it's varying tastes over 16 tracks.  All of those 16 tracks are samples of the diversities found within the talents of Joey Stuckey, who impressively fills each song with his lightning-fast, '70s influenced guitar, and his able voice.

Stuckey's music is that of '70s-styled Rock with a Southern influence.  On this new album, Stuckey compiles the gems from his 4 previous albums, one of them Live.  There are two new songs ("Free," "Hold") that bookends the album's collected tracks.  Both songs show that Joey Stuckey is still firmly entrenched within the business of making excellent music.

There is the Tull-like "Until," and the excellent Jazz-drenched "Bad Dreams," and "Still Me, Sane and Free." There are out and out rockers, and folky tunes as well.  So Far is a smorgasbord of tunes in the truest sense.

This self-released album contains a video of "The Light That Guides," a bluesy tune that also features on this album as a Live cut from his Live & Stuff CD.  There is also an animated short video for his "Walking Over My Grave" song, which is not found elsewhere on this collection but is on the represented Take A Walk In The Shadows (1995) album.  Additionally, the lyrics to his songs found on this collection are here as well as a hotlink to his website.

Joey Stuckey is an immense talent revered by many of the big names that you know that includes Ted Nugent and Derek St Holmes, as well as Chuck Leavell.  Stuckey has shared the stage with many more notable names (Allman Brothers Band, Charlie Daniels Band, Ted Nugent, Bad Company, James Brown, Ike Turner, Carole King).

I wholeheartedly encourage your investigation and exploration of Joey Stuckey.  You're likely to become a fan.
