There is something very elegant, yet sad and bittersweet within the 12-track folkish collection by indie artist, Fran King.  King begins his latest album, My Sweet Elixer, with the CSN-like "All About Me" and immediately grabbing your attention before the Beatle-esque "The Note" whisks you off on lilting melodies like butterfly wings.  "I've Got a Feeling" delivers in a prime James Taylor-like fashion.

I don't want to lead you down a path of this sounds like this and that sounds like that.  Instead, I want to give you an accurate sense of just how good Fran King is and where he'll take you on his folk-laden journey.

I find Fran King to be a genuine talent that is effectual and who will command a bit of real estate on your iPod as well as your sensibilities as you travel along with him.

If you're a fan of such folk delights, then Fran King will give you new classics to go along with your previous favourites.  Give him a concentrated listen and you'll be rewarded. After listening to My Sweet Elixer, you won't be able push some of these songs out of your mind easily as they come stock with anchors.

Thank me later.
