Other than The Beatles catalogue, the albums most urgently in need of remastering have been Van Morrison’s first three albums released in 1968 and 1970. In honor of Warner Brother’s Records 50th anniversary, Warner Japan has reissued these titles with new 2008 remastering. All sound absolutely incredible. The original CD releases came out in the very early days of the compact disc and, considering today’s remastering technology, have become unlistenable. Finally, having these in remastered form is a major event.

All three CDs have exceptional sound that does not show the albums' age. Streetchoir, likely the worst sounding digital re-master of the original US releases, now takes on a whole new life. This is undoubtedly the best that these titles have ever sounded.

The packaging is a standard jewel case and the booklets are the same as those currently available in the US versions. They do contain Japanese inserts that presumably document more of the albums’ history. The face of each CD replicates in exact detail the green Warner Bros. label and logo of that era. These are value priced imports costing less than $16.00 each! They are available from various Japanese music websites including Amazon.jp and CDJapan. I have seen no indication that these titles are scheduled for release in the US or elsewhere. But with classics such as "Sweet Thing," "Caravan," "Into The Mystic," and "Domino" gracing these discs, these are much too important to pass up!
