Duane's Pit Stop

Write at dkleyva@musictap.net

Welcome back to another Duane’s Pit Stop! Unfortunately, last week's posting was rather late due to our inbred bastard Web Master and Editor Matt Rowe taking a hiatus, neglecting to tell all of his staff! So this week’s edition of Duane’s Pit Stop is solely dedicated to Matt Rowe! On another sad note, we have some very sad news from the band, the Dead Milkman. We are going to do something a bit out of the ordinary to pay respect to this band. Here we go, coming directly from the web site:

This morning Dave Blood is no longer with us. David is my brother. Since the breakup of the band David has never really found his niche in life. My brother was a smart clever and talented person. Inner peace has seemed to elude him for the last many years. Sometime last night David chose to end his life.
He left a note that I don't know all of what it said, he was not elaborate-but he said he just could not stand to go on any longer. Our mother passed away at the end of January and maybe David just had had enough. There will be a memorial service in a few weeks. I will try to remember to come to this board and post it. It will be in the Delaware County area.

Please pray for the response of my bother's soul; that he now has the peace that seemed to elude him most of his life.

I want to say that one of the shiniest parts of David's life was being a Dead Milkmen and having that claim to fame. And the fans who appreciated the talent and time that went into making the band rise above the ordinary-thank you all for making my brother feel and know that he was indeed somebody.

In Memory of Dave Blood

The Staff of MusicTAP says, may you rest in peace Bro! if you would like to leave a message for the family you could do so here http://www.deadmilkmen.com/

Trustkill Means New New New - New video, new DVD, and a new band. Looks like hardcore giant Trustkill Records have some good stuff on their hands. The label has released the trailer for the New England Metal & Hardcore Festival 2003 DVD. Anyone who's ever been to one of these fests knows how hard they rock, and the DVD should be no exception. Rock Against Bush Vol. I - Album Cover - From Fat Wreck: Well here it is folks, our most important release of the year: Rock Against Bush Vol. I. It's 26 songs (most of which are rare or unreleased) from all sortsa bands in the indie/punk scene. Because of the dire circumstances that we face, everyone is coming together in the name of good ol' fashioned punk rock unity and speaking out against the buffoon that runs our country. Click here for the cover picture and track list.

Originally we planned for just one comp, but because of the overwhelming interest from bands, we decided to make multiple volumes...and why not?!?! Expect Volume II in August. We should also mention that this comp comes with a huge booklet full of info and comes packaged with a bonus DVD with music videos and political content. Do your part and check out this cheap comp!

Well that’s going to wrap up another Duane’s Pit Stop. Remember, you can always reach me at dkleyva@pacbell.net. if you have any music info or just want to shoot the breeze. With that final thought, I do hope every one has a great weekend.

Peace.

Love you Roxy... be good!
