Unwritten Law Cancels Tour - Unwritten Law regretfully announce the cancellation of their current U.S. headline tour effective immediately. The band are directly returning to the Los Angeles area as long-time bassist, Pat Kim’s father was admitted to Kaiser Hospital earlier this week due to an undisclosed, serious ailment.

Unwritten Law was currently on the road in support of their forthcoming Lava Records disc here’s To the Mourning. The band made the difficult decision this evening to cancel the tour as Pat Kim was notified of his father’s rapidly declining health.

“We’re extremely saddened to have to cancel the tour and let down our fans,” stated Scott Russo, front man for the veteran San Diego five-piece. “Due to the unforeseeable circumstances and our concern for Pat and his family, we made the right decision to turn the bus around.

Unwritten Law is planning to reschedule the cancelled dates in early 2005. For more information, go to www.unwrittenlaw.com or contact the Lava Records press department.

Pmfs News - Planes Mistaken For Stars seem to never stop. The boys head to the UK this January for a short headline tour to support the release of their album "Up In Them Guts" on No Idea. This will be the band's first return to the UK with the new album since their tour opening up for the Ataris (?) Supporting the band on all shows will be the UK's own October File. The tour is sponsored in part by the great folks at Rocksound Magazine, and the London show will be a "Rocksound Exposure Night". They will also be touring the states with High On Fire and Kylesa in February as well. There will also be a full tour of Europe in March with Converge where PMFS's original bass player Jamie will be filling in for Chuck while he prepares to be a daddy. Dates will be announced soon.

Drive-Thru/Purevolume Comp - Finally has a release date of February 8, 2005. There will be over 100 songs, but the label will not be releasing the track listing until 2005, so quit asking.  You might also want to cosider ignoring any rumors certain crappy bands are on the CD because Drive-Thru insists are not.

I don't know what the hell they are talking about honestly, and I'm sure you don't either. I'm sure the bands who are claiming to be on this comp probably suck anyway, not to say that Drive-Thru doesn't have their share of sucky bands.  With that in mind, maybe DTR should add include these rumor mongers.  Oh, right, Drive-Thru's doesn't release stuff by sucky bands unless they are big. So, if you hear that a small crappy band is going to be on the next DTR comp, tell them to shut the fuck up and go back to their garage and practice.

Back to the news, or the little that is posted on this site today.  DTR will be having a bunch of record release shows around the USA, but we don't have any info on where  and when they will take place.  The label also says that iIf the CD sells enough copies (and you know it will), they will be releasing a second volume later in the year.  Get the real news at www.Drivethrurecords.com  or on their myspace site,
