Welcome back to another Duane’s Pit Stop. This week we have some good Sonic Youth info as well as some of your favorite punk bands from your neck of the woods.
I also want to take the time and explain when these posts are somewhat delayed a couple of days. Well, let me just explain what the norm is for this posting. I usually put together these postings by six o’clock on Thursday evenings and them ship them off to our Editor, Matt Rowe. Well, it would be nice if the Oompa Loompa pinhead bastard Matt Rowe would just do his part of the deal, but NO! Watching that fruity show, Friends was just so damn important” and he always finds a way to fumble things up like his sorry ass Chicago Cubs do (Uhh, Duane...White Sox..that's THE Chicago White Sox and NOT the Cubs..you fruity bastard - MR), so if you feel as I do please email the Fruity Bastard with your opinions at mattrowe@musictap.net.
With that note let’s get to the news.

Honorary Title E-Card - You can check out the E-Card for The Honorary Title's new album "Anything Else But The Truth" right here. The record is scheduled to drop June 1, 2004 on Doghouse Records. The artwork is pretty damn awesome.
Aquabats embarking on full
US
tour - The Aquabats will be heading on tour this summer. The tour will primarily consist of club shows, with some scattered Warped Tour dates thrown in. As far as support goes, The Planet Smashers will be on the tour, but I am not positive as to how much of it they will be on at the moment. You can check out the dates right here.
New Strung Out full length gets a title - Strung Out's new album will be called "Exile In Oblivion" and the word on the street is they have hired Matt Hyde (Hatebreed, Pulley, Slayer) to lead the way with the albums recording process. With that said, the production is already going to sound way better than their last full length "American Paradox."

Atreyu tracklisting - In the latest battle against girls who wear dark eye makeup who apparently brandish deep resentment for guys who put on girls pants, Atreyu has devised these evil sounding song titles. These titles will appear on their newest metal masterpiece "The Curse." Keep fighting the good fight guys. It is nice to see somebody finally realized that all tyranny and evil in this world comes from girls.

Two new Bad Religion interviews - Alternativenation.net, a zine based out of the UK, has posted a highly entertaining interview with Bad Relgion's bassist Jay Bentley. They discuss everything from their touring plans, current world affairs and their new album, "The Empire Stikes First". Go here to check that out.
Also, toazted.com has posted an mp3 interview with Greg Graffin. The interview was conducted at Epitaph's European headquarters in
Amsterdam
this past March. Download the mp3 here.
Anatomy of a Ghost - Has called it quits. Here's the message from their website:
We are very sorry to announce that Anatomy Of A Ghost has disbanded. for the past year and a half we have traveled together, played together, lived together, and yes, even showered together. We have become as close to each other as humanly possible and are very grateful for every second we were given over the course of this band, but when it came time to sit down and write the coming record we realized how different we really were. We know it is very bad timing, what with the second album so close to being recorded, but we feel that it is unfair to all of you that have supported us to release a record that might not have a band to support it, or even worse, just carrying out the motions. To us, anatomy of a ghost is ending the best way it ever could, as a family. We want to thank everyone who has ever supported us, our families for having all the faith in the world in us, the passionate people at Fearles Records, all the
Bremerton
, Seattle,
Portland
, and
Spokane
kids for giving us a home from the beginning.
Where do we go from here? John, Zach and Wes have a new project that they are working on called "
Portugal
. The Man". You will hopefully hear some new music from them this summer, including songs we played on the Dance Or Die! Tour. Dewey has also been working hard on a project that he's very excited about. Although Anatomy Of A Ghost is ending, we are all very passionate about playing music, and we look forward to sharing new music with you in the future.
Beastie Boys, Bad Religion, Strokes, Von Bondies and more at 2004 BFD -
San Francisco
radio station Live 105 has announced the lineup for their annual BFD concert. The show takes place this year on Friday, June 11th at the Shoreline Amphitheater. Tickets go on sale for the event on Sunday May 9th.
On the main stage of the event will be The Beastie Boys, The Strokes, The Violent Femmes and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Also appearing on a second stage will be Bad Religion, New Found Glory, Death Cab For Cutie, Story Of The Year, The Von Bondies, Yellowcard, The Killers, The Stills, The Fire Theft.
A Big Bag of Ferrets - "Yup, that's right, we're excited to announce that on July 13th we'll be releasing not only the new ZAO album but the
US
debut for Funeral For A Friend. Their first album, 'Casually Dressed and Deep In Conversation' is a huge step for the band. [...] To support their albums release this summer we've lined up a little tour for the fellas. Get this - They've been added to The Projekt Revolution Tour (yeah we know they spelled that shit wrong but Korn is on it, what do you expect?) with
Linkin
Park
, Korn, Snoop Dogg, The Used and Less Than Jake."
The tour dates are available here. Also of note is an ecard for the June 1st release of Twelve Tribes new album 'The Rebirth Of Tragedy." June 1st will also mark the release of the debut full length from ex-7 Angels 7 Plagues members' Misery Signals.

7Seconds Update - From 7seconds.com: The new album is FINISHED. Our good friend David Houston has been handling the mixdown and has done an amazing job. It's loud, thick and powerful sounding, exactly what the 4 of us want to hear on a hardcore record.
The album will be called 'Our Core' and it will include 17 songs, coming in at just about 28 minutes long. Jesus, 'The Crew' might have been longer!
The current release date for the record (according to SideOneDummy) is August 10th! How cool is that? We were thinking it wouldn't come out until at least October.
We will be doing weekend West Coast shows throughout May, June, July and August. Once the album comes out, we'll head out for a
U.S.
tour, probably all of September and in November, we will be playing this year's Eastpak Resistance Tour (with Sick Of It All!) all throughout
Europe
.
And just so you guys know, the band had a big meeting this past weekend and it has been decided that we will devote a HUGE chunk of 2005 touring around the world. Why is that, you ask? Hey, 2005 marks the 25th year anniversary of 7Seconds. How lame would it be of us to sit back and do nothing?"

Atom Returns! (proton and neutron still in retirement) - "File this under "shortest retirement ever." Adam Goren, formerly of Atom and His Package, has announced the formation of a new band, sans the lovable package, with which he departed mere months ago. Although no info about other members or genre is given, the band, Armalite, is playing a show on Friday, May 28th at a house in Philly. Get directions/info here "
Well that’s going to wrap up another Pit Stop. I do wish all of you Mothers a great Mothers Day! Peace.
