Welcome back to another Pit Stop for the week of June 6. We have some updated information on various festivals in the UK and some as always-great info for the good old US. Wth that in tone... let’s slam.

Sonic Youth and the Stooges - On August 14th Sonic Youth will perform with Iggy and the Stooges in Detroit. The original Stooges permanently scarred music from 1967- 1973. The reunited Stooges delivered a pummeling set, which was the uncontested toast of the Coachella Festival in California in April. Shortly after finishing the US portion of this summer's tour, Sonic Youth will head to Europe for two festivals. On July 12th they will play the Ilosaarirock festival in Joensuu Finland. And on the 13th, the Serbia Echo Festival in Belgrade.

Less Than Jake for Reading - Less Than Jake have appeared on the bill of the official Reading site. They will be playing the Main Stage on Friday after Finch.

AFI In-Store Signing! - AFI will have a signing session at HMV, 150 Oxford Street, London, W1D 1DJ on Monday 9th June at 6 p.m. There will be 500 wristbands available. It is advised to be there early.

Huge Pennywise Album Update - From Pennywise: Here's an update about what has been going on with our band. We've just finished mixing our new record and it looks like it's going to come out on September 9th. As soon as we're done putting the artwork together we'll be getting ready for the warped tour this summer, then Europe, Australia and everywhere else after that. As soon as we have solid dates we'll have them up on the site.

New album from The Steam Pig- "POTSHOTS", The 3rd album by The Steam Pig will be released in July 2003 in a joint venture between Jacunta's Offshore Holdings(irl) and Punkshit Records(uk). Records (uk). Anyone familiar with the band live will know that recent material represents a nastier strain of venom and " Potshots " represents some of this, priding itself as one of the most scathing attacks on humanity you're likely to hear. The album will be launched on Saturday July 12th at the TEMPLE, 71 upper Dorset Street, Dublin 1, featuring THE STEAM PIG and special guests to be announced. Admission on the night is 10 euro, which includes a copy of the CD.
