Duane's Pit Stop

Hey, welcome back to another Duane’s Pit Stop. First off for this week, I would like thank Mark from Tulsa, Okalahoma for sending in the cool pictures we used in this edition of Pit Stop. As for this week’s posting, we have a smaller edition which is a relief to that inbred bastard Editor of this site, Matt Rowe. [ Editor's Note: Duane is just plain ole sore about the theft of a football game. He's still stinging about Da Bears when they snuck up and swiped the game from the Raiders. Serves the bastard right.] With that in tow, let's get to the news.

Blink-182: No Album Title, No Preconceptions - An art project is the way Blink-182 envisioned their fourth major-label studio album, which will be untitled, not called Use Your Erection I and II, as was once tossed around. If the album, due November 18, did have a title, perhaps Take Your Time and Polish It would be fitting. Ditching the typical recording process of writing and demoing several songs and recording them in a studio one instrument at a time, Blink-182 moved into a house and approached each song together.

The untitled album will feature 14 tracks, along with a bonus DVD containing six new videos — "Feeling This" plus five by director Scandalous — and footage from Blink-182's August performance for troops in the Middle East.

Blink-182's untitled album track list, according to Geffen Records:

"Feeling This"
"Obvious"
"I Miss You"
"Violence"
"Stockholm Syndrome"
"Down"
"The Fallen Interlude"
"Go"
"Asthenia"
"Always"
"Easy Target"
"All of This"
"Here's Your Letter"
"I'm Lost Without You"

DVD:

"Feeling This"
"Obvious"
"Down"
"The Fallen Interlude"
"Violence"
"Stockholm Syndrome"

Kid Gorgeous Calls It Quits - Lambgoat is reporting that Buffalo hardcore/metal band Kid Gorgeous have called it quits. They will be playing their final show on November 1st at the Continental in Buffalo with Snapcase, Every Time I Die, and Asherah. The site posted this statement "With the constant loss of members, money and label support, there is only so many times a band can repeatedly get back on its feet. A sincere thank you to all who have supported over the years. God bless. Cheap merch can be purchased at www.kidgorgeous.com. Certain members are currently seeking new projects."

Kill Your Idols/Crime In Stereo Split EP - The long awaited split from these two Long Island hardcore bands was officially released yesterday on Blackout! Records. The EP, which offers up two new songs and a Sheer Terror cover by Kill Your Idols and three new jams from Crime in Stereo, available through the Blackout! site as well as MerchDirect and other retailers throughout the country. The vinyl press of this release is currently in the works.

Weezer Delays Album Reissue And DVD - Weezer has delayed the special edition reissue of its self-titled 1994 debut album, according to the band's official web site. A DVD of the band's history has also been pushed back. Both items were originally due out by the end of this year, but will now probably surface in 2004, due to what a posting on the site called "overall schedule planning at the record label."

The new edition of Weezer is expected to emerge as a double-disc set, featuring an elaborate booklet, lyrics, liner notes, B-sides, rarities, and some previously unheard material.

The DVD, titled Video Capture Device, will run over three hours and include band commentaries, among other yet-to-be-announced features.

Weezer is currently writing songs for its fifth album, which will be produced by Rick Rubin.
