Duane's Pit Stop

DKLeyva@musictap.net

Hey!! Welcome back to another Pit Stop. For this week, thus far, I have received a load of email regarding "just who the F##k! are The Shrooms" and "why did I interview them". Well, since I do this shit for free and I choose to listen to music that I enjoy, especially since there is a freedom of choice. I like to select my Music unlike what is being played by what corporate America decides what’s right and what's not right to hear. Who in their F##kin' mind listens to Justin F##ken Timbershit and just how the hell does this bastard get award after award when the SOB has less talent than all of the Brady Kids combined. Is there a secret society amongst us that actually says, “Let’s make them big..call my accountant, Ira”. Yes, as ironic as it sounds, that’s what happens today in our modern Music Industry. And while I’m at it, Celine Dion can go F##k herself too. I’m sick of these pre-fabricated BS Corporate junk that’s spilled through Big Brother MTV every 10 minutes of the day. It’s so bad that these entertainers are like cockroaches, you turn the TV channel on, you look at the TV Guide cover, you go to the market and they're on every gossip column front page. Holy shit!! Wake up, world! The kids we all picked on and took their lunch money from are now running things. Lets unite and hear punk music 24/7. Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Which leaves me with The Shrooms. Every now and then, there is a breath of fresh air that just puts things back into perspective. In music, as when one first heard The Rolling Stones for the first time or when the Sex Pistols were first aired on the TV, people were jolted to realize that there are still bands out there that truly keep to their form and actually do enjoy just playing music for their own gratification. That’s why The Shrooms were my selection. So, with that in tow, lets do what we do best.

Consumed Calling It Quits - From the Consumed website: As some of you may have already heard, Consumed is indeed splitting up. Basicly we felt that our time as 'unluckiest band in the world' was over and that we should pass on that particular crown to another unfortunate group of youngsters. Expect a final chapter in the history of Consumed from Chris appearing on the bio page anytime soon. Suffice to say we have had a total blast! Thanks!
