Duane's Pit Stop

DKLeyva@musictap.net

Hey, welcome back to another cheesy posting of the Old Pit Stop. Unfortunately, the Inbred Bastard Editor of this site was on vacation last week so we have been rather late with all the posting but all is back to normal. If you should have any comments, please feel free to bitch to Matt Rowe at mattrowe@musictap.net.

Also, I would like to say thanks to Mr. Art from the Shrooms. We had a good chat talking about the old days in ELA Punk and the various characters we both knew. Check his site out and see his band when they're around your neck of the woods. The site is at www.theshrooms.com. With that in tow, lets go.

Saves The Dreamworks - After several, several months of rumors, it has finally been confirmed that emo quartet Saves the Day have signed to Dreamworks records. Their upcoming album, In Reverie, will be released in September and will be heading out on tour with Taking Back Sunday and Moneen soon. Is signing to Dreamworks really much different than being on Vagrant?

If you want the full lowdown on the DVD/CD combo, TheUsed.net has got it all. If your eyes and ears can't wait to get a hold of it, you can purchase it there, too. Hot.

Things Are Alright For Daly's Gone Wrong - Bronx, New York boys Daly's Gone Wrong are preparing for the release of their new full-length, and want you to hear what they have to offer. The disc will showcase the band's amazing mix of ska, punk, and everything in between and they've posted a few things to tease you until the release. Orange Island Set Sail For New Lands - Iodine has announced that their first official singing, Orange Island, will be leaving the label and continuing on to new endeavours. Having just finished a new full length, the band will now be associated with a new label (which is, as of now, undisclosed). Idodine sends OI off with their best wishes, and OI doesn't leave without a final goodbye, either. The guys have recorded a final EP entitled The Tease EP with four unreleased songs. The EP will also have DVD footage documenting the band's span on Iodine and will feature some some special guest appearances by bands including The Movielife, Brand New, Kill Verona, Breaking Pangaea, and much more. Keep your eyes peeled for more of the scoop on OI.

Tromatic Warped Tour -The maniacs at Troma Films have an unexpected surprise at the Warped Tour this year. MTV.com reports that they'll be shooting scenes for a movie, tentatively titled "Punk Rock Holocaust" during the tour. The premise is simple, a disgruntled employee gets fired the first day and he puts a curse on the Warped Tour, then it becomes your typical B-Movie film, filled with death and wanton destruction. So, if something weird happens at Warped Tour, blame Troma. And if it's not them, blame Simple Plan.

Ever Since Warped Tour - Ever Since Radio has announced that they've been added to the line-up at Warped Tour. They'll be playing the July 30th show at the Nissan Pavillion in Washington DC, so if you're headed out to that show, make sure you catch them. Addtionally, if you really want to show your support for the ESR guys (and you know you do, c'mon...), click over and vote for them here at the Ernie Ball Battle. Spread the love and catch Ever Since Radio this month.

Sparta - is currently on their final break for a long while. In August they begin putting together all their new songs and begin working on the new album. The band will take a quick break to play some of their favorite European Festivals (see below), then return to work on the new album that should be finished by Christmas. It will tentatively be released at the beginning of April. Keep an eye here as we'll be giving lots of updates, and other interesting stuff to keep you occupied in the meantime.
