I have a review for you of the EP called Violet by See Green, an artist that I think that you'll like. Back on Friday for more plus two new reviews.

Bridget Kelly! WOW!

And a quick one for you. Fantasy Records will release the new Crowded House album on July 13. The 10-track album is called Intriguer.

Before I go, I'd like to introduce you to Thanatos. This band has made some excellent albums dating back to the early '90s and the mainstay, Patrick Ogle, has one final (completed) album left to release. The album is called The Exterminating Angel and needs 80 pre-orders for pressing. I've already pre-ordered. I'm hoping that you'll investigate and, if you find that you like Thanatos, pre-order a CD upping the possibility that we'll all get one of these CDs. Check it out at the link. And while you're there, check out a few of the posted tracks.

John Dunphy makes it two in a row with his new review of The Grandiose Nowhere by Lacrimas Profundere.

I want to alert TAP readers to the fact that I have finally put together a FaceBook fan page that you can access and join by clicking on the badge below.  What this offers is the exact same thing as my Twitter feeds provide and that is first buzz on upcoming releases and free offered downloads, many announcements  that beat our main post, sometimes by days.  We also provide a Google BUZZ page that expands on most of the Twitter/FB feeds. On Buzz, you can even hear the music stream if a stream is offered.  There are still things that I'm working on in the FB page, like calender notes as well as links to great sites like The Second Disc.  I invite you to join us at our FB page and bookmark it.  Visit it daily and you'll be rewarded with much news and info.  Of course, you'll still want to come to the main MusicTAP page for our noisy commentaries.  Remember, with our Twitter feeds, you can elect to receive the news bursts as text on your mobile phone keeping you effortlessly up to date with stuff.  Lots of choices.  Find one, or two, that fits.

Notes...

Reprise Records will be releasing an LP version of the upcoming new Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers album called Mojo. The LP, a 2LP set, will be released on audiophile-grade 180g weight vinyl. It is slated for June 29. (Did they really need to pose for the cover, though?) Also note that on May 15, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers will be the guest band on Saturday Night Live.

More vinyl is planned for the upcoming Punch Brothers album, Antifogmatic, which is scheduled for release on June 29 via Nonesuch Records. It will be a single disc with a bonus CD included. The CD and Deluxe Edition 2CD/DVD sets are planned for earlier release on June 15.

You may be elated to know, vinyl fans, that the upcoming Cure Deluxe Edition (whenever it arrives) of Disintegration is also intended as a 2LP, 180g set slated to be released on June 8 via Elektra Records. I find that pretty danged exciting.

Hip-O Select has slated August 24 for the CD and DD (Digital Download) of The Singles, Volume 9 (1973-1975) featuring James Brown songs.

Verve Records will release the CD and DD of Plays the Hits by Jimmy Smith, scheduling for July 13. Also getting this series nod is one for Sergio Mendes and Brasil '66, same date.

Sanctuary Records has selected August 24 for the release of IKON by Motorhead in both CD and DD formats.

Hip-O Select will reissue I Came to Dance (1977) by Nils Lofgren on August 24. Nice!

Concord Records wil release a DD version of Live in Concert by Ray Charles on July 6.

Varese Sarabande Records will release Cactus V by Cactus on June 29 (CD).

And finally, (how's this one for a closer), Custard Records will release Cheat the Gallows by Bigelf on vinyl LP on June 15.
