I already know that there are a fair number of Wishbone Ash fans that read TAP.  As well, many of those fans can not only tell you the evolution of the band, but likely the Mark lineups that have occurred during which period.

Ted Turner, a founding member of the band, auditioned for the lone guitar void but was as good as one of the other auditioning members, Andy Powell.  Both were kept and the rest is history.  So profound was the style that was birthed by this duo with their innovative "twin lead guitar" sound that eventually was adopted by other bands that the duo was called two of the 10 most important guitarists in Rock history.  They are also two of the most underrated guitarists, virtually unknown except by Wishbone Ash fans.

Recently, Ted Turner has begun recording a solo album, which should immensely interest devout Wishbone Ash fans.  Turner has begun a website for fans to check into on an ongoing basis as Ted Turner begins to reinsert himself back into the music world.

I encourage you to broaden your scope especially if you're a WBA fan and visit Ted Turner, possibly even supporting his re-emergence. As one of the great, original guitarists from WBA, this album could be very interesting to listen to. Personally, I'd love to see him rejoin one of the two current Wishbone Ash entities in the hopes that he can bring them back together for another go-round. But I'm anxious to hear his new album called Eclektic Value all the same.

Eclektic Value is an album that is being helped along by a unique contribution and we have been invited to participate. There are several levels of participation with $10 netting you the download of the album, while $15 gets you the physical CD, and it gets more interesting from there. If you have $2000, you get to be listed as an Executive Producer of the album. There's even a pledge that enables you to play a round of golf with Ted Turner. You can access the pledge site from here. Additionally, you can get to his website from the website link.

I'm liking what I'm hearing. Very Wishbone Ash-y in style.

Consider this a public service announcement.

I'm going off to work on Monday's post. It's a monster and will take all of my available time to get it ready for your viewing. We really hope that you'll like it.

The Poll is ends on Sunday. If you haven't put in your selections, now is as good a time as ever. Send your Great Live Albums Poll lists as soon as you can to be counted in our Monday (May 10) post.

On another note, I'm still working stuff out on our new Wordpress site, in case you were wondering just what I'm up to with that. My intention is to expand the offerings somewhat but it has to be stuff you want. I'll be playing with it over time and eventually open it up for you to have at.

Be back for that massive Monday update!

John Dunphy makes it two in a row with his new review of The Grandiose Nowhere by Lacrimas Profundere.

I want to alert TAP readers to the fact that I have finally put together a FaceBook fan page that you can access and join by clicking on the badge below.  What this offers is the exact same thing as my Twitter feeds provide and that is first buzz on upcoming releases and free offered downloads, many announcements  that beat our main post, sometimes by days.  We also provide a Google BUZZ page that expands on most of the Twitter/FB feeds. On Buzz, you can even hear the music stream if a stream is offered.  There are still things that I'm working on in the FB page, like calender notes as well as links to great sites like The Second Disc.  I invite you to join us at our FB page and bookmark it.  Visit it daily and you'll be rewarded with much news and info.  Of course, you'll still want to come to the main MusicTAP page for our noisy commentaries.  Remember, with our Twitter feeds, you can elect to receive the news bursts as text on your mobile phone keeping you effortlessly up to date with stuff.  Lots of choices.  Find one, or two, that fits.
