I have the results for the Eric Clapton Career-Best album right here. And I have to admit to being surprised. Some of EC's albums were ignored entirely (There's One In Every Crowd, From The Cradle, Pilgrim, Riding With the King, Reptile, Me and Mr Johnson, Back Home, others) while others, like No Reason To Cry, were found to have a stronger following than originally thought. Eric Clapton has a rich background. With membership in prestigious bands (Bluesbreakers, Yardbirds, Cream) as well as a strong post-band solo career, Eric Clapton has established himself as one of the great musicians of our time.

I find it interesting - very interesting - that Pilgrim (1998) didn't get any love from respondents although it has enjoyed successful status.

Enjoy the results:

  • Journeyman (26) - This ended up being the absolute (and undeniable) favorite EC album. The album was pretty well-received and enjoyed some single charting.
  • Money and Cigarettes (19)
  • No Reason To Cry (14) - My personal favorite favorite, and an serious surprise to me to see it rank as high as it is here.
  • August (13)
  • Slowhand (10) - This is the one that I thought would win the list becuase it was a very important blip on EC's radar.
  • 461 Ocean Boulevard (8)
  • Backless (5)
  • Behind The Sun (2)
  • From The Cradle (2)
  • Eric Clapton (2)
  • Just One Night (Live) (2)
  • Another Ticket
  • Unplugged (Live)
  • EC Was Here (Live)

The Second Disc's Mike Duquette has delivered another review, this one of the recently released Symphonicities from Sting.

I want to alert TAP readers to the fact that I have finally put together a FaceBook fan page that you can access and join by clicking on the badge below.  What this offers is the exact same thing as my Twitter feeds provide and that is first buzz on upcoming releases and free offered downloads, many announcements  that beat our main post, sometimes by days.  We also provide a Google BUZZ page that expands on most of the Twitter/FB feeds. On Buzz, you can even hear the music stream if a stream is offered.  There are still things that I'm working on in the FB page, like calender notes as well as links to great sites like The Second Disc.  I invite you to join us at our FB page and bookmark it.  Visit it daily and you'll be rewarded with much news and info.  Of course, you'll still want to come to the main MusicTAP page for our noisy commentaries.  Remember, with our Twitter feeds, you can elect to receive the news bursts as text on your mobile phone keeping you effortlessly up to date with stuff.  Lots of choices.  Find one, or two, that fits.

As many of you may already know, Paul Collins is best known (or should be) as having been a part of The Nerves, The Breakaways, and The Beat (or Paul Collin's The Beat). All of these bands were '70s bands. I'm excited to get this album for myself. Here's a free track from the album, "Do You Wanna Love Me?". I love this track!
