We have a few things for you before we go off into the sunset of the weekend. It's been quite a busy week for me and therefore the reviews have slowed down. But we're like an old LP, we're full of grooves to get back into. AND, we do have news and we do have Duane's Pit Stop. So, saddle up. Tuesday (Presidents' Day, y'know) will have several reviews including Peter Green's Live at the BBC DVD-Audio. We also have a new Reader's Review. Come back for a great Tuesday.
Oh, these days...
Don't forget the reader reviews. If you have a single paragraph about a favourite current album that you have, share it with the world. Write me here and use READER REVIEW in the subject line.

We have some info on the Lou Reed issue and the Eric Clapton album. The 2CD Animal Serenade release by Lou Reed will be a live album. I love Reed's live albums. It seems to me that his last was Live in London from 1998. And Lou does fine live albums. This one goes into my collection.
The Eric Clapton issue, Me and Mr Johnson, is a collection of Robert Johnson tunes as sung by Mr Slowhand. This one is alsoo going into my collection.
Both of these Reprise Records releases will street on March 23.
A word on the Depeche Mode boxes coming on March 30. It's figured that the 6 individual sets will house around 6 singles each. With Depeche Mode in single mode back in the day, it's not surprising there are a few collectible sets. But there will be more info as it becomes available. Keep your hats on.

Boy, did I blow this one. I received 20+ emails concerning a blunder that I perpetrated on Blondie by referring to Blondie as 'her'. And I should have known better. I used to bite heads over references to Rod Stewart and The Faces when we all knew that it was The Faces. If anyone had even hinted that Stewart did "Stay With Me"...well, I needed psychotic pills. The same goes for the references to Sting and The Police. Last I remembered it was The Police.
And so, what did I do? I go and say Blondie's next album is "...her 8th...". Blondie is representative of the band and not one individual. So, I apologize for the misstep. You were right to point this out to me. Uhhh, in other news...
We have a few nice entries for today so sit back and enjoy. We'll see you again on Friday.
Don't forget the reader reviews. If you have a single paragraph about a favourite current album that you have, share it with the world. Write me here and use READER REVIEW in the subject line.

We're back but for a brief time as news is slow today. We do have an interview by Marco Passarelli with guitarist Earl Slick. I myself have a fond memory of his Capitol LP, Razor Sharp, released waaaayy back in the 70s.
We hope to have a few reviews for you tomorrow. We have one in store for Grant Lee Phillips and his new upcoming Rounder release, Virginia Creeper as well as Faith & Disease's latest, passage to kunming.

V2 Records' The Crystal Method and their expected 2LP release has been pushed to hold status.

The first order of things here at MusicTAP is to wish my son, Justin (JrTAP) a happy 20th. They just grow...and grow. And he's turned out to be a fine son at that. Next year, we'll do the Vegas thang like we did with my daughter (MsTAP). She's now 23 but she sure had a lot of fun. We expect more of the same next year.
The second order is the rectification of Duane's Pit Stop. We've got the pics and have them in place. He sure wanted you to see these. Check them out.
If this weekend wasn't stressful with more than 1000 emails clogging my system, it became more so with a breakdown of sorts that quit downloading at 800 and went right back to download them again. I had to go into a web-based email and delete them that way. Damn this virus...damn it, I say!!
I'm burying myself in a great book by Neal Stephenson. I've read all of his stuff including the great, but difficult, Cryptonomicon. His latest, Quicksilver, is the first of three lengthy tomes. And I'm loving this latest one. But a word of warning to the unsuspecting. Not everyone is going to like this. If you're curious, check out his earlier Snow Crash; Diamond Age; and Zodiac. That will get you started.
Monday is a little on the slight side. We've had a good few weeks but it is a bit on the slow side today. But it isn't empty; we do have some things that may be of interest to a few of you.
We also have our first reader review entry by TAP reader, Gary Ortleib. The album reviewed is Air's Walkie Talkie. Now the rest of you who are fond of a current disc. Write them up and share the review.
Oh, by the way...I FINALLY snagged a copy of T. Rex's Electric Warrior in DVD-Audio format and mymymymymy! That 192kHz Stereo mix is just as groovy as they come. Fans will really be pleased with it. George's review of the DVD-Audio in Friday's post was dead center. Jeepster comes out otherworldly in a very revealing track. 'You've got the universe reclining in your hair...' I'm happy once again. Now gimme Slider and Tanx.
We trust you had a great weekend. We'll see you tomorrow.
Don't forget the reader reviews. If you have a single paragraph about a favourite current album that you have, share it with the world. Write me here and use READER REVIEW in the subject line.

Columbia Records and Legacy have control of some of David Bowie's past catalogue. I mention some so this potential doesn't apply to everything. However, it's on the schedules for a revitalization of three of Bowie's past titles, namely, Outside; Hours; and Earthling. These come to you on March 23.
From Epic imprint, Integrity comes an album from Don Moen, Thank You Lord. This will be in stores on April 6.
Legacy will release a 'best of' for Kenny Lattimore called Days Like This: The Best of Kenny Lattimore on February 24. This counts as one release I've missed. Apologies to fans and to Jerry Marlow for passing this one by.
LoLa Ray's new album, I Don't Know You, is coming out on April 6 from Epic Records.
Mary Chapin Carpenter's next album, Between Here and Gone, will street on March 2 and will arrive from the folks at Columbia Records.
Americana sextet, Ollabelle, will have their album, Ollabelle released on March 9. If you're especially anxious, it will be released and available for download on iTunes tomorrow in digital format. Ollabelle was 'discovered' by T Bone Burnett, best known to the masses as the curator of the O Brother, Where Art Thou soundtrack. Anyone who knows Burnett's background will be eager to hear what Ollabelle brings to the fore.
Guitarist Peter White will have a new issue on March 23 from Columbia. The album will be named Confidential.

Daron Malakian of System of a Down has a vanity imprint label with Columbia. An upcoming release on this label, EatUrMusic, will be an album by European MetalShock band, Satyricon. The album, Volcano, will see its American release on April 6. You can sample the band via this MP3 link for Fuel for Hatred and for Repined Bastard Nation. Additionally, a video for Fuel For Hatred can be seen via this link for Windows Media and for Quicktime. Cover scan above.
