We have a few things for you before we go off into the sunset of the weekend. It's been quite a busy week for me and therefore the reviews have slowed down. But we're like an old LP, we're full of grooves to get back into. AND, we do have news and we do have Duane's Pit Stop. So, saddle up. Tuesday (Presidents' Day, y'know) will have several reviews including Peter Green's Live at the BBC DVD-Audio. We also have a new Reader's Review. Come back for a great Tuesday.

Oh, these days...

Don't forget the reader reviews. If you have a single paragraph about a favourite current album that you have, share it with the world. Write me here and use READER REVIEW in the subject line.

We have some info on the Lou Reed issue and the Eric Clapton album. The 2CD Animal Serenade release by Lou Reed will be a live album. I love Reed's live albums. It seems to me that his last was Live in London from 1998. And Lou does fine live albums. This one goes into my collection.

The Eric Clapton issue, Me and Mr Johnson, is a collection of Robert Johnson tunes as sung by Mr Slowhand. This one is alsoo going into my collection.

Both of these Reprise Records releases will street on March 23.

A word on the Depeche Mode boxes coming on March 30. It's figured that the 6 individual sets will house around 6 singles each. With Depeche Mode in single mode back in the day, it's not surprising there are a few collectible sets. But there will be more info as it becomes available. Keep your hats on.

Disc two is filled with 14 additional songs and are b-sides, live tracks, demos, unreleased garage recordings, and more. This 10th anniversary edition was originally released in 1994 eventually selling over 3 million. Fans should be excited for this title.

Also receiving Deluxe Editions are the soundtracks for The Big Chill and Easy Rider. Looking at Easy Rider first -

Even though I think that all of the labels are extremely slow out of the gate especially where hi rez id concerned, there is a bit oozing out the system. For this one bit, we have word on Seal and his Seal IV coming to DVD-Audio on April 6.

A note on the upcoming March 23 release of Steely Dan's Gaucho is that both DVDA mixes, Stereo and MC will be 96kHz/24bits.

Another addition to upcoming SACD releases will be Diana Krall's The Girl in the Other Room. This SACD will release on April 27 by Verve Records.

There is a huge batch of upcoming DVDs coming. And some pretty exciting titles at that.

Columbia Records and Legacy will issue a Bob Dylan Unplugged DVD on March 30. For those Dylan fans who can't ever get enough.

On March 23, Rhino will re-issue the spectacular Toward the Within, a Dead Can Dance title. And that's great news for deserving fans. This title was originally released in 1994 as VHS from 4AD.

Also from Rhino Home Video is a DVD from Genesis called Live at Wembley Stadium. It is also expected on March 23.

Another title is a DVD for Peter, Paul, and Mary called Carry It On: A Musical Legacy. This releases on March 23.

Moving over a few calendar blocks to March 30, we note the following expected releases:

February 11, 2004

Boy, did I blow this one. I received 20+ emails concerning a blunder that I perpetrated on Blondie by referring to Blondie as 'her'. And I should have known better. I used to bite heads over references to Rod Stewart and The Faces when we all knew that it was The Faces. If anyone had even hinted that Stewart did "Stay With Me"...well, I needed psychotic pills. The same goes for the references to Sting and The Police. Last I remembered it was The Police.

And so, what did I do? I go and say Blondie's next album is "...her 8th...". Blondie is representative of the band and not one individual. So, I apologize for the misstep. You were right to point this out to me. Uhhh, in other news...

We have a few nice entries for today so sit back and enjoy. We'll see you again on Friday.

Don't forget the reader reviews. If you have a single paragraph about a favourite current album that you have, share it with the world. Write me here and use READER REVIEW in the subject line.
